Laguna Beach Night Trip Today!

Are you ready for the Laguna Beach Night Trip today? This is your reminder to meet at the second round-about in Arroyo Vista near Houses 1050 and 1082 at 5:30pm.

Be sure to bring some money, your ID, and a camera to catch pictures of the beautiful sunset. The temperature will be around 23⁰C so we suggest you wear layers and comfortable shoes.

We will depart from Arroyo Vista at 6:00pm and drive to Laguna Beach. Our first stop is Las Brisas Restaurant near Heisler Park, where you can take pictures and watch the sunset. We will take a brief tour of Laguna Beach and you will have free time to explore, ride the trolley, see street performers, visit some of Laguna Beach’s best kept secret spots, eat at international restaurants, and much more. To learn more about what the area has to offer, check out this website!

Summer Session Sports Today!

Weekly Sports (SSII Wk 5)

Do you want to take a break from studying and enjoy the sun?

Come out with some friends and play a casual game of volleyball, basketball, or your favorite sport at the Anteater Recreation Center (ARC) fields every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Meet directly there or in front of Continuing Education 5 (Activities Office, building #238 on the campus map) 15 minutes beforehand to walk to the ARC with the Activities staff, who will organize the games and play with you.

Last Transcript Workshop Today!

Are you unsure about how to order a transcript? Come to our last Transcript Workshop today, where you can get answers to any questions you may have about transcripts. The workshop will be held at Social and Behavioral Sciences Gateway 240 (building #214 on campus map) at 12pm today (Wednesday, September 6th).

As we come closer to the end of the program, you will need to request an official UCI transcript to send back to your home university in order to receive credit. You will need to have the correct address for where you should send your official transcript. Bring your questions and see you soon!

The Laguna Beach Night Trip is this Thursday from 6pm-10pm!

Spend your Thursday evening at Laguna Beach where you can see the perfect sunset, ride the trolley, visit Laguna Beach’s best kept secret spots, eat at international restaurants, and much more. Don’t forget to bring some money, your ID, and camera! This event is FREE! Spots for the trip are based on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up at the International Summer Session Office soon!

Hollywood LA Tour & Outlet Shopping Trip: Spots Still Available!

There are spots still available for the Hollywood LA Tour & Outlet Shopping Trip on Saturday, September 9th from 9am to 10pm!

You will have the chance to visit Hollywood, Griffith Park, and Downtown LA before we make our way to the Citadel Outlets on this day of fun in LA! We will visit many famous Hollywood landmarks, including the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Enjoy the Griffith Observatory, one of Southern California’s most popular attractions. In Downtown LA, you can visit the Grand Central Market, a downtown landmark since 1917, bringing together the cuisines and cultures of Los Angeles! At the Citadel Outlets, an outdoor shopping center that features a variety of popular brand-name outlet stores and restaurants, you can find the perfect gift to take home.

Don’t miss this chance to visit the Los Angeles/Hollywood area! You will need to get approval from the Activities Office before signing up. Visit the International Summer Session Office if you have any questions. Both offices are open from 8am to 5pm.

INSIDE UCI - Throwing Things (Wk 4)

At this INSIDE UCI event today, Tuesday, September 5th from 10am-11am at Continuing Education 4, Room 110-111 (building #232 on the campus map), you will hear from Professor Elizabeth Loftus, who will share with you her fascinating research on manufactured and false memories. She has also been involved in the trials of Ted Bundy, O. J. Simpson, the Hillside Stranglers, and the McMartin preschool trial workers. In 2002, Dr. Loftus was recognized as one of the 100 most influential researchers in psychology in the 20th century, and the highest ranked woman on the list.
