The second pillar focuses on the development of novel technologies to advance rehabilitation strategies for individuals with neurological disorders by incorporating tools, such as motion capture systems and functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) with dance/movement therapy.

INSIDE UCI (1)

In the Cognitive Anteater Robotics Laboratory (CARL) at UC Irvine, students, researchers, and faculty are designing robotic systems whose behaviors are guided by large-scale simulations of the mammalian brain. Because these simulated nervous systems are embodied on a robot, they provide a powerful tool for studying brain function. Moreover, because these cognitive robots are embedded in the real-world, the system’s behavior and function can be tested similarly to that of an animal under experimental conditions.

Come join this amazing tour of CARL and see these robots come alive!

RSVP REQUIRED

This is an INSIDE UCI program. This event seats 30 students. An RSVP is REQUIRED on EEE.

If you can no longer attend, please remember to update your RSVP. Failure to update your RSVP will affect your ability to sign up for future Inside UCI events.
